Murchison Falls

Murchison Falls, also known as Kabalega Falls, is one of Uganda’s most stunning natural attractions, located in Murchison Falls National Park in the northwestern part of the country. The mighty Nile River forces its way through a narrow gorge, just 7 meters wide, before plunging 43 meters down, creating a thunderous and spectacular waterfall. The resulting mist and rainbows add to the dramatic scenery, making it a highlight for visitors.

Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest national park, covering over 3,800 square kilometers, and offers a diverse landscape of savannah, riverine forests, and wetlands. The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, and crocodiles, along with more than 450 bird species. Visitors can take part in boat safaris on the Nile to the base of the falls, enjoy game drives, or hike to the top for breathtaking views.

The falls are not only a powerful natural spectacle but also an essential part of Uganda’s rich ecological and cultural heritage.
