Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

On arrival, your guide will welcome and transfer you to the hotel for overnight in a charming boutique hotel. Entebbe is a peaceful town located on the shores of Lake Victoria offering you options for sunset boat cruise.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Depart Entebbe for about 4-hour drive southwest to Lake Mburo national park with a stopover along the way at the Equator for photo shoots. After checking into your lodge, join a late afternoon game drive where you may see Nubian giraffes, impalas, elands, and zebras. Later return for diner and overnight.

Day: 3 Walking Safari and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, take an optional guided nature walk a fantastic way to connect with nature and observe wildlife much closer. Later, you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park, one of the best places in the world to go gorilla trekking and see mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Bwindi is located in Kigezi highlands, a breathtaking landscape of terraced hillsides, steep valleys, and sparkling lakes, making for a photographer’s paradise. Enjoy diner and overnight at your lodge with stunning views of Bwindi forest.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking

You will wake up early to prepare for an unforgettable day of gorilla trekking. Dress in your trekking gears, ensure you have packed lunch and drinking water, and go the briefing center to attend briefing conducted by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. They will provide important information about the trekking guidelines and the behavior of the gorilla family you will be visiting. Set off for the trek which can be challenging due to the nature of terrain but its all part of the adventure. When you finally locate the gorillas, your will spend 1 hour to enjoy the moment and capture some memories. After the encounter, hike back to the lodge for lunch before a late afternoon community walk.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for Boat Cruise

From Bwindi a 1-hour drive will bring you to Queen Elizabeth national park, considered Uganda’s most visited park. This protected area is home to rare species including the tree climbing lions. You will do a game drive to search for the big cats through Ishasha wilderness and end your day with an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel. Connecting Lake George and Lake Edward, the 32 km long channel attracts elephants, buffaloes, hippos, Nile crocodiles, and waterbucks. Queen Elizabeth national park also harbors over 600 species of birds. Settle into your lodge for diner and overnight.

Day 6: Game Drive Transfer to Kibale National Park

Take an early morning game drive and transfer to the primate capital of the world via the stunning explosion Crater Lake fields. Kibale national park is famous for harboring 14 primate species including chimpanzees, grey cheeked mangabeys, central African red colobus monkeys, L’hoest monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys. Kibale is also home to 335 species of birds of which 6 are endemic to the area such as the green-breasted pitta. You will arrive at Kibale check into your lodge for diner and overnight.

Day 7: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Swamp Walk

Chimpanzee trekking begins at Kanyanchu visitor center for a morning session and afternoon session. You will meet the UWA rangers who will take you to search for chimps in the forest. Once the troop is located, visitors spend 1hour observing man’s closest relative. See how they feed, groom, and play with each allowing for a deeper insight into their behavior. After an amazing time with chimps, head back to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, visit Bigodi wetland for a swamp walk to explore the 8 primates, 200 birds, and a variety of local plants that dwell in the area. Learn about the efforts to protect this 4-sq. km swamp by the Kibale Association For Rural Development that works with locals to promote sustainable tourism. After the walk, drive back to the lodge for diner and overnight.

Day 8: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Leave Kibale for 5-hour drive to Murchison falls national park this route offers stunning views of Butiaba escarpment and Lake Albert. Murchison falls is bisected by the River Nile and is rich in biodiversity with 79 mammal species and over 450 birds. One of the park’s gems is the Murchison falls where the River Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge and plunges over a 45 meter cliff with a thunderous roar into the devils cauldron creating a trademark rainbow due to the play of light and mist. After checking into your lodge, head out on an evening safari drive to view plains game such as Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeests and their stealthy predators as they prepare for a night hunt including leopards, lions, and spotted hyenas. The park is known for its 1,550 Nubian giraffes, which is almost 50% of Africa’s population as well as many buffaloes, and over 2,000 African elephants. Enjoy diner and overnight in the midst of the savanna plains north bank of the River Nile.

Day 9: Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Rise before sunrise for an early morning game drive with the help of your guide to search for predators-lions, leopards, and spotted hyenas. You may also see elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and antelope species. Head back to the lodge for lunch and later go for a boat cruise along the River Nile upstream to the bottom of the falls. You may again encounter hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes and an abundance of birdlife. The launch trip will take 3 hours roundtrip along the 17km to and from journey. After your adventure, return to the lodge for diner and overnight.

Day 10: Departure

Return to Entebbe for your flight back home with the opportunity to track rhinos along the way at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. End of 10 days Uganda safari.
